Impressionistic
I like to paint in an impressionistic way, celebrating the use of light and form to create a story that does not necessarily rely on realistic depictions. When I paint I let the right hemisphere of my brain take over, which frees my mind and gives my “third eye” a chance to express itself.
Inspiration
Manchester features a lot in my cityscapes as the atmosphere of the city is so near and easy to tap into.
I also live near the Bolton Bury canal network and the beautiful countryside around Rivington in Lancashire. Both feature massively in my work as they are indelibly printed in my mind.
